Micro- or Mega- bat?

August 6, 2015-Holy bats, Batman! Final program for Pre-1st and 2nd to 6th Graders

Children met at 11 am and 1 pm for special presentations by Christina from the Organization for Bat Conservation!

Children enjoyed special snacks and learned (and shared) a lot about bats!  Christina helped us learn the distinction between Micro- and Mega- bats and had helper volunteers demonstrate the differences, which include large or small eyes and a short or long nose.  She introduced us to four of her bat friends, provided tons of bat facts and let us know how we can take care of them if they enter a house.

As a special treat, Christina was able to use an IPAD to demonstrate echo-location one of her bats was using.  With the assistance of the IPAD, people were able to hear echo location of the bats, which people can't hear.
