Reed City Area District Library

Touch-A-Truck Huge Success

Pictures and thank you to supporters of the 2012 Touch-A-Truck new library project fund raiser.

We would like to extend a great big thanks to all the wonderful people who gave up their time, resources, and talents for the Touch-a-Truck event in Reed City. It was a great success and a truly uplifting experience to see it all come together for the community and Library. The June 9th event raised $ 900 and we had approximately 350 people come through to touch the trucks. The first 150 families also receive free 'Trucks' books. Proceeds will help fund the new Reed City Public Library Project.

Over 30 trucks were on display for children and adults to explore and learn about. We would like to thank the following sponsors for donating their resources for the day: Wolverine Power Supply Cooperative, Osceola County Road Commission, Reed City Police, Reed City Fire Department, Class Act Towing, John Cookingham, MOTA, Rural Waste Services, A-1 Services, Baker College, Utility Supply and Construction, Hydecker-Wheatlake,  L C Redi Mix, Turner Trucking, Osceola Ambulance Services, Robert and Jan Vanden Berge, Trailriders Snowmobile Club, Bill and Lori Barr, Peterson’s Towing  and Dave and Ollie Ludholtz. Also, we thank the drivers who stayed and made a fun day for all.

Others, who contributed both financially or with talents and resources were: Babb Ford, Crossroads Chevrolet, Rick Sheldon, McDonald’s, Dollar General Summer Literacy Grant, Usborne Books and More, Head to Toe Salon, Michigan Department of Transportation, Michigan Center for Truck Safety, Ice Mountain, South Park Homes, H & D Chuckwagon, Vic’s Market Foodland, Shakers, Wright’s Bakery, Chris’ Country Dollar, Hersey General Store, and Pere Marquette Catering

And, a big thank you to all the volunteers who helped during the day.

Sincerely, Reed City Library Staff and Volunteers
