Wine Tasting & Silent Auction 2014
New Library Project Fundraising Wine Tasting story.

On
February 8, 2014 the Library had a successful annual Wine Tasting &
Silent Auction event with a "Love Your Library" theme. This was truly a
collaborative effort in the Community as the Loyal Order of the Moose
generously hosted this event as in past years, Shaker's Party Store was
willing to accomodate wine orders and silent auction items, including
original works of art and handcrafted items, were all donated by
talented (and generous) community members or local businesses.
Attendance
was slightly higher than in previous years and folks seemed to enjoy
the wide array of wines to select from. There were five red wines and
seven whites, including several of Michigan's own finest blends.
Attendees received wine tasting tips and Jon Odykirk, Fabiano Brothers,
instructed volunteer "pourers" on other interesting tidbits about the
wines. The favorites of the evening were several of the reds, which was
a departure from previous years.
Donations
for event tickets and silent auction items accounted for net proceeds
of approximately $ 1,600 all in support of the New Library Project,
which will benefit the Community tremendously in coming years!
Thanks to the many people and generous contributions that again made this annual event a success!
